MAINSTREAM WRESTLING IS LIVE FROM SEATTLE, WASHINGTON AND WE’RE INSIDE THE MAINSTREAM WRESTLING STUDIO!
“Highway to Hell” by AC/DC blares from the Mainstream Wrestling Studio sound system as the “American Monster” Jacob Hammerstein walks down the ramp to the ring. Graham Stevens hands him a microphone before the Hall of Famer rolls under the bottom rope and stands in the center of the ring.
HAMMERSTEIN: You know there was a time when guys like Robert Zodiac didn’t merit my time or attention. I paid them no mind while I carried this company on my back, racking up title defense after defense, bringing the World Heavyweight Championship the recognition and prestige that it deserved.
The American Monster waves his hand and shakes his head.
HAMMERSTEIN: Now that’s not a knock against Zodiac. He’s one tough son of a butch and he kicked my ass when we fought at Mainstream 52. I meant that when I wore the title, I had tunnel vision, my one goal was to keep that title and dominate this company.
“Here recently, I got away from that. I got away from that singular purpose that helped me win this year’s Emerald City Classic.”
Hammerstein bows his head, as if in shame, and runs his fingers through his dark hair.
HAMMERSTEIN: But no more.
He raises his head and looks into the camera.
HAMMERSTEIN: I’m back on the hunt. I’ve got my mind right, and whether it’s Jason Cashe, Bryan Blaze, I don’t give a damn who it is. At MAINSTREAM 55...the Four Year Anniversary of Mainstream Wrestling, that World Heavyweight Championship is mine! There’s nobody that’s gonna stop…
Hammerstein is interrupted by the opening riffs of “Deal with the Devil” as Julianna DiMaria who steps through the curtains with a microphone and walks down the aisle with a purpose. She enters the ring and motions for her music to stop.
JULIANNA DIMARIA: I don't think so...
The former United States Champion has a frustrated, angry look on her face as she begins to pace the ring.
JULIANNA DIMARIA: Don't forget that I'm the one that you defeated in the Emerald City Classic.
“There's no way you can act like it was a rout because it was far from it. I almost beat you for the damn thing and on top of that...I have been, far and away, the most successful United States champion all year and I'm not about to wait at the back of the line and have to claw my way back up by beating people like....Positively Penny!”
“You see Hammy... I've gotten better since that encounter and I know that on any given night, if we faced off again, I'd beat you because lightning doesn't strike twice...and it's about damn time I get MY opportunity to be a World Champion...
Suddenly the lights go out.
GREATEST
OF
ALL
TIME
OF
ALL
TIME
"Born for Greatness" by Papa Roach plays with the first verse building the anticipation. As the verse comes to the end it pauses for a moment. All of the lights go out again, but then come right back on in full brightness!!!
NO WE'RE NOT NAMELESS
WE'RE NOT FACELESS
WE WERE BORN FOR GREATNESS!!!
WE'RE NOT FACELESS
WE WERE BORN FOR GREATNESS!!!
Suddenly, Billy "The G.O.A.T." Danielson walks out from behind the curtain and he makes his way down to the ring in his street clothes. He wipes his feet before going up to the apron, and into the ring with a microphone in his hand.
BILLY DANIELSON: Now wait just a damn...MINUTE!!!
The Legacy Champion obnoxiously walks right into the World Heavyweight Championship conversation by interrupting Julianna DiMaria. Everyone’s face just drops, but Billy is absolutely beaming with joy. He waves off whatever Julianna and Hammer were saying.
BILLY DANIELSON: Are we dick measuring here? Because guess what folks, I’ve got the biggest one around here...
Absolute disgust on the face of Billy’s sister-in-law Julianna DiMaria, as she gags and tries not to throw up.
BILLY DANIELSON: I have held more Mainstream Wrestling titles than the both of you combined. In fact, Jacob, you wouldn’t have ever held a title in Seattle Pro if it wasn’t for the fact that, I GAVE YOU THOSE OPPORTUNITIES. Nobody gave a shit about some fat greaseball from Whynot, Mississippi until I brought you into the Midnight Horsemen and taught you how to lift weights and win titles.
Hammer can’t help but laugh at Billy being full of himself. Danielson quickly scoffs and points at Julianna now.
BILLY DANIELSON: And you, Julianna? Isn’t it your usual m.o. to self-destruct after you lose your first title? Because I tell you what, I’m tired of seeing your stupid face in my company. I think it’s about time you go all ‘Mistress of Demise’ and take my dipshit emo brother with you on your way back to irrelevance, okay?
Julianna looks like she’s about to punch him, but he ignores her like he usually does.
BILLY DANIELSON: Me though? I’m like the God of Mainstream. My very breath creates shows and titles. So tell me again why either of you deserve title shots EVER, when all I have to do is exist and be better than you two? I’m a Three time world champion, Endurance champion, two time tag champion, U.S. champion, Pride Grand Prix winner, Emerald City Classic Winner, Hall of Famer, and now Legacy Champion. The only thing I havent won is the Pinnacle Battle Royale, and that’s because I’ve only been it one time, and that’s because I was announcing a different match in the middle of it. You guys can’t measure up to that. Nobody can. That’s why I am the Greatest of All Time and am the only person that should be allowed to take the world title off of that piece of shit redneck, Jason...
The lights in the arena begin to flicker and a familiar voice begins laughing. “Hotel California” begins to play and everyone in the ring turns to the big screen as Eli Buchanan appears, sitting on a lawn chair in the hotel’s garden. As the camera pans backwards, we see the chair is on top of a grave with a gravestone marked with “Leytrix. Burn in Hell.”
Eli doesn’t seem to notice everyone in the ring at first. He sits there, sipping on a beverage and smiles. He takes another sip of his drink, turns to the camera and acts shocked to see everyone in the ring spits his drink all over Leytrix’s headstone.
ELI BUCHANAN: Sorry everyone, I didn’t see you all standing around there.
He notices Hammerstein and waves at him.
ELI BUCHANAN: Hi Hambone! How’s it going, old buddy? Is this lot trying to steal your big moment here. Will shame on them, all showing up there, bragging about their accomplishments. Well not me! I mean how pathetic do they have to be thinking they deserve a title shot more than you do, Mr Emerald City Classic 2020?
Eli laughs for a moment at how silly he perceives everyone there to be. A thoughtful look crossed his face and he let out a sigh.
ELI BUCHANAN: Although, I’m a former Emerald City Classic winner myself, and a former World Champion as well. I probably hold more victories over you, or Jason Cashe for that matter, than anyone else in this company. Not to mention that Billy Danielson there has never beaten me one-on-one.
He pauses for a moment and shakes his head.
ELI BUCHANAN: What am I saying? Neither me or Kalidah are interested in championship gold anymore.
The camera pans down to the UWL Television Title lying beside the chair. Eli quickly picks it up and tosses it behind the tombstone.
ELI BUCHANAN: Oops! Who left that there?
He shrugs and throws up his hands, giving in to this madness.
ELI BUCHANAN: Ok, I’ll admit it, I like title belts. They’re shinny and make great projectile weapons in case a pack of SCP-939s escape from the maze outback.
He tosses his drink aside and stands up.
ELI BUCHANAN: Ok fine! If Billy Boy and Julie Andrews are going to demand a title match, so will I. After all, the last two times I got a shot at the World Title there was a bunch of shenanigans involved.
He looks off to the side and the camera turns to see Jimmy Pagan sucking the soul out of some poor backpacker who clearly wished he hadn’t stopped at the hotel for the night. Eli shrugs and smiles.
ELI BUCHANAN: But Jimmy and I have worked things out between us now. I don’t think that’ll be a problem anymore. So consider this me throwing my hat into the ring for a World Title match as well.
He bangs his hand on the tombstone and a hat comes up out of the grave and hands him a hat. Eli tosses it at the screen and it mysteriously appears in the middle of the ring.
KEVIN BOMBAY: Gentlemen...Julianna...I understand that everyone feels as if they have a viable reason why they deserve a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship and I agree. You do. You’re all wonderful talents but the fact of the matter is that Jacob Hammerstein won the 2020 Emerald City Classic and he’s in the Main Event of the Four Year Anniversary show on Thanksgiving Night challenging the winner of Jason Cashe and Bryan Blaze for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Hammerstein smiles while the rest scoff in confusion.
KEVIN BOMBAY: But there is one more stop between tonight and the Four Year Anniversary. See next weekend is MAINSTREAM 54. Right here in Seattle the World Championship will be on the line in a Fatal Fiveway Ladder Match between the Champion and the Four of you to determine just who will be the King or Queen of the Mountain!
DiMaria and Danielson look around confused.
KEVIN BOMBAY: Hammerstein you still got your match at M55 but let’s include you in this new match concept next weekend as well. You’ve earned it! This match will be the first of its kind in Mainstream Wrestling. The five competitors in this match will start out as "ineligible" to win. In order to become "eligible", a wrestler must score a minimum of two pinfall or submission victories on any combination of their opponents.
“The opponent who submits or is pinned is forced to spend two minutes in the "penalty box" cage. More than one wrestler can be in the cage. Once you are "eligible", you may win the match by retrieving the World Heavyweight Championship that is suspended above the ring with the aid of a ladder.”
“The winner of this match will go on to Main Event Mainstream 55 our companies Fourth Year Anniversary! Good luck to all!
“Highway to Hell” by AC/DC begins to play throughout the studio as Eli Buchanan laughs hysterically on the video screen while Hammerstein seems pleased with a second opportunity.
CHARLES HUDSON: DiMaria is the first to exit the ring and she seems excited
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Meanwhile Billy Danielson seems disappointed having to share the spotlight with others.
