CAESARS ARENA—THE HOME OF THE DETROIT PISTONS![/center]
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Ladies and Gentlemen we’re Live on the Battleground Network from the Little Caesars Arena right here in Detroit!
CHARLES HUDSON: We’re about to kick tonight off with a Contenders Match for the Seattle Pro Wrestling Pride Championship!
“A’right, stop, stop, hold on, hold on, hold on—”
Suddenly, A.J. Morales's custom edit of "Champion" by Falling in Reverse hits the PA, sending the Little Caesars Arena into a frenzy of cheers. As the lights near the entrance ramp turn gold, vapor starts hissing out of the fog machines and A.J.’s personal highlight reel starts to play on the big screen. The Revolution himself emerges from behind the curtain wearing an all-black three-piece suit, his newly-won world title slung under his shoulder, as a series of small fireworks that spell out “N-V-R” go off above him. After a well-timed burst of flames on the stage, A.J. starts walking down the ramp, high-fiving anyone who reaches out to him.
GRAHAM STEVENS: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the NEW NVR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION—THE REVOLUTION! A! J! MOOOOORALEEEES!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: : That’s right, if you missed NVR Fusion: San Jose, you missed the moment fans have been waiting on for months. In one of the most brutal steel cage bouts we’ve ever seen, A.J. Morales finally put an end to Jimmy Pagan and the Bastard Era, and now he’s got the NVR Heavyweight title to show for it.
CHARLES HUDSON: : And let’s not forget, he pulled it off in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the city where it all began, and walked out with the first world title of his career! That night has to mean the world to him, and I’m curious to see what he has to say now that he’s on top of the world.
Once A.J. reaches the ring, he climbs in and goes to each turnbuckle, throwing up clenched-fist salutes to the crowd and showing off the NVR Heavyweight title, trying to get the cameras on it as much as possible, before finally calling for the timekeeper to throw him a mic. Morales soon gets his wish and turns to the hardcam side of the ring.
A.J. MORALES: Thank you, thank you! Detroit Rock City, what’s f#qkin’ good?
As expected, the crowd rewards the cheap pop with cheers. A.J. waits for it to die down before he keeps talking.
A.J. MORALES: I gotta say, man...it’s pretty surreal to finally be here. I mean, this is what every kid that grows up on pro wrestling dreams of, right? Being a world champion, hearing the crowd chant your name…
[A-J-MO-RAAAAA-LES! A-J-MO-RAAAAA-LES!]
[NAAAA-NANA-NANA-NANA! -clap clap-]
[A-J-MO-RAAAAA-LES! A-J-MO-RAAAAA-LES!]
[NAAAA-NANA-NANA-NANA! -clap clap-]
A.J. MORALES: Stop, stop, you’re gonna make me blush! Haha...for real, though, there’s no way I would be where I’m at today if all of y’all didn’t believe in me. This is just as much your world title as it is mine, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you. All of you.
Again, the crowd cheers for A.J., and he gives them plenty of time to do so before he resumes.
A.J. MORALES: A’right, I think it’s time I let y’all in on a little secret about wrestlers. We might show up to the ring looking like superheroes, we might pull off moves that seem impossible, but the truth is that none of us started out that way. At some point in their life, every great wrestler walked into wrestling school for their first day of training and absolutely sucked. At some point in their life, every world champion was just a kid in the stands, watching their favorite wrestler celebrate a win and thinking “One day, that’s gonna be me.” It doesn’t matter where you’re from, who your daddy was, how you worship, who you love—this sport is equal-opportunity. If you have enough love for the game, you can be somebody in this ring. And it was because of that openness that when I realized, almost ten years ago now, that I needed a purpose in life if I was gonna ever do more than just struggle to survive and be angry at the world, I was able to get into this sport and find that purpose and remake myself into who I am now—and if I could do it, I know anybody in this arena can.
The Revolution stops for a minute to push a couple stray hairs away from his face.
A.J. MORALES: But I’m not gonna coast on what I already have, and I’m not just talking about the tag title shot me and Christina got comin’ up tonight. See, when this belt started as a regional title, Izzy Van Doren set a standard. She took on all comers, she didn’t back down from anyone, and she led NVR by example. And what she did with it in the Bay Area? I’m gonna do the same thing on a global scale.
A quick pause for dramatic emphasis before the champ continues.
A.J. MORALES: So it is my honor and privilege to throw down the gauntlet right here, right now to everybody in every promotion that makes up the NVR alliance. I’m not just defending this at the Fusion shows, and I’m not keeping this exclusive to XWA and Seattle Pro either. I’m takin’ this to Union Battleground, Death Trip, Renegade, and every other promotion on the Battleground Network, and I’m gonna put it on the line against the best opponents I can find, ‘cause what’s a championship belt without the competition, right?
A.J.’s eyes lock on to the camera in front of him, and the frame zooms in slightly to make sure he’s the TV audience’s sole focus. He adjusts the belt’s positioning to make sure we see its front plate.
A.J. MORALES: If you think you’re good enough to take this from me, by all means, step up. Just keep in mind, I didn’t put all these years of work in to get good enough to hold this just to be a transitional champion. I didn’t jump off the top of a steel cage and hit the most dangerous move I know to go down in the record books as an ordinary champion. This right here is ten pounds of world heavyweight championship gold, the prize that everything I’ve ever done has built up to, and a world title deserves a Worldwide Revolution to take it to new heights and make it mean everything it can possibly mean. So world...you better brace yourselves, ‘cause that Revolution is here, it’s already started, and by the time this reign is over, this championship will never be the same again.
A.J. drops the mic and raises the title high, soaking in the cheers from the audience one last time as a smile breaks out on his face as the sound of Coral Rose’s music begins to play and she makes her way out to the ring for her match. Rose and Morales pass each other in the aisle with a short stare down before Rose continues on down to the ring.
PRIDE CHAMPIONSHIP
CONTENDERS MATCH
★★★ CORAL ROSE ★★★
VS
★★★ RICKI WILDE ★★★
GRAHAM STEVENS: Your winner by pin fall is CORAL—ROSE!CONTENDERS MATCH
★★★ CORAL ROSE ★★★
VS
★★★ RICKI WILDE ★★★
The bell sounds and it’s Coral Rose who looks to move in quickly for the collar and elbow tie up with Ricki with the self-proclaimed Queen of Seattle pro trying to get the upper hand. Ricki is just about to get it, but Coral stops Ricki by pushing her on her ass. Coral walks over grabbing Ricki by the hair, pulling her up by it. Coral lifts Ricki up, hitting her with a Vertical Suplex!
Later in the match Ricki Wilde would look to regain some momentum utilizing a cross face submission but the veteran Coral Rose would grab a handful of hair and pull the buxom beauty down to the mat. Rose would pull Wilde up off the mat and bring her in under her arm and drops her with a snap DDT! Coral pulls Ricki up again by the hair, hitting her with her Rose Dust, somersault three-quarter facelock bulldog followed by a hook of the leg for 1...2...KICKOUT!
Coral slams her hands on the mat, getting up while her manager Karrine is yelling encouraging remarks to Coral. Coral nods her head towards Karrine while grabbing Ricki, pulling her up again. Coral keeps a hold of Ricki's hair, using it to bring her face down.
The official would warn Coral Rose not to pull her hair but this move may have gotten Rose back into this match. Coral would then begin nailing her with a knee to the face. She would continue with the repeated high knees, before finally dropping her with a DDT. Coral pulls her up, and hits her patented ‘Destruction Rules’ leg trap sunset flip power bomb for 1...2...3!
