WRESTLER INFO
NAME - Tenshi Van Santana (real name: Arata Ikeru)
ALIAS - El Nuevo Monterrocker, Guardian Angel
AGE - 22 (born 12/25/95)
HOMETOWN - Monterey Bay, California
HEIGHT - 5'7"
WEIGHT - 168 lbs.
WRESTLING STYLE - Lucha libre
ALIGNMENT (Face or Heel) - Face
PICBASE - Hiromu Takahashi (long hair, red streaks)
BIOGRAPHY - A longtime fan of San Jose-based lucha libre promotion Zapatista Lucha Libre, Arata Ikeru was devastated when, in early 2017, Angél Van Santana, one-third of the then-reigning ZLL Trios Champions, Los Monterrockers, retired from wrestling as a result of injuries sustained in a bus crash. Angél had been Arata's inspiration to get into the sport and apply to ZLL's wrestling school. But with some persistence, Arata was able to get into contact with Angél himself, and with the retired Monterrocker's guidance, Arata took up Angél's daredevil style, added a touch of the visual kei flair his parents had in the '80's before they left Japan for the United States, and rode it to an early professional debut in ZLL under the name Tenshi Van Santana.
By late spring 2018, Tenshi's unprecedented rise to top star status in the company, culminating in a six-week, two-defense title reign as ZLL Campeón de Peso Welter, had caught the eye of "The Revolution" A.J. Morales, another former member of the Monterrockers who'd broken out to massive worldwide success since the trio's breakup. With the opening of Squire Merlot, Tenshi has not only the chance to learn from another of the trio he idolized long before anyone outside the West Coast had heard any of their names, but to face a brand-new array of opponents and hopefully prove himself worthy enough to join A.J. on the Seattle Pro main roster someday.
ENTRANCE MUSIC - "What's up, people?!" // Maximum the Hormone
ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION:
As the intro to "What's up, people?!" by Maximum the Hormone plays over the PA, we hear an engine revving somewhere behind the curtain. Before anyone has much time to ponder what's going on back there, Tenshi Van Santana rides out on a motorcycle, followed close behind on foot by A.J. Morales. As the crowd cheers for both men, Morales bows his head and raises his trademark clenched-fist salute, while Tenshi puts one foot on the ground to stop himself and spreads his arms wide in a Jesus Christ pose.
RING ANNOUNCER: From Monterey Bay, California, accompanied by "The Revolution" A.J. Morales, weighing in at 168 pounds...he is the Guardian Angel...TENSHI! VAN! SANTANAAAAA!
A couple revs of the engine later, and Tenshi rides down the entrance ramp, giving out high-fives to those who reach close enough while A.J. covers the ones Tenshi misses. Once Tenshi gets close enough to the ring, he starts to lean the motorcycle back until he's popped a wheelie, then climbs up to the handlebars and leaps at just the right time to jump straight to the top rope and subsequently roll forward into the ring. Once Tenshi pops back up to his feet, he throws up the devil horns to the crowd, then goes back into the Jesus Christ pose again for a moment before going to his corner to run through his game plan for the match with A.J. one last time.
