2019 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE
★★★ JAMES EDWARDS ★★★
[INDUCTED BY: AJ KNIGHT]
Former Seattle Pro World Heavyweight Champion AJ Knight makes his way to the podium, wearing a tuxedo and smirking a bit as he approaches the microphone.
AJ KNIGHT: You know, people always say you never forget your first.
The crowd chuckles at that line.
AJ KNIGHT: Not like that! Get your minds out of the gutter!
This is met with more chuckles.
AJ KNIGHT: But for Seattle Pro, James Edwards was their first. Their First World Champion. Their First Pride Champion. And overall one of the finest talents to step through those ropes!
A Pop of agreement for that one.
AJ KNIGHT: Not only that, but I think I can fairly say that without James Edwards, AJ Knight would not be the star he is today. We're not exactly friends, but we're not enemies either. I guess you could call us best frenemies. He was my first great rival and it's because of him I learned some of the hardest lessons I've ever had to. He's hit me harder and more often than anybody else, and usually I deserved every bruise he gave me.
A sincere grin of respect crosses AJ's face.
AJ KNIGHT: You know, about 3 years later I'm honored they would ask me to do James this honor. Last year, I took away what should have been the proudest moment of James Edwards' career, it's only right that I'm here to give him what he's due: The moment he never got
“And on that note: Please join me in welcoming the latest inductee to the Seattle Pro Hall of Fame: The Burning Heart; JAMES EDWARDS!”
James Edwards steps out onto the stage greeted by AJ who's all smiles as he shakes his rivals hand, before heading to the back, leaving Edwards to give his speech.
James Edwards walks on the stage dressed in a dapper black suit with a black shirt and royal blue tie, his signature colors. A.J. slaps James on the back and hands him his plague. James and A.J. then share a firm handshake before Knight exits to give James his moment in the spotlight.
JAMES EDWARDS: Y’all know I’m not much of a talker, so I’m going to make this short. Hell, honestly this speech is going to be me telling a lot of folks two simple words: thank you.
The gathered crowd gives Edwards a nice round of applause.
JAMES EDWARDS: The first person I want to thank is A.J Knight for introducin’ me. We don’t always agree or get along, but he’s my greatest rival, and nobody brings out the best in me as he does. The second person I want to thank is Jacob Hammerstein, a man I’ll always be proud to call my most dependable friend in this sport. I know we don’t always agree or get along, which seems to be a trend in my career.
The crowd chuckles, and so does James.
JAMES EDWARDS: But if anybody tells me there are no second acts in professional fightin’, I’ll call B.S. and point to the Hammer. He inspires me every day with how much he’s grown as a wrestler and as a person. I’m proud to go into the Hall, the same class as your buddy. The third person I want to thank is Robb Daniels. Everywhere I’ve been there was always some guy that management wanted on top, but me. When I was Fight One Champion, Aidan Morag wanted Bronx Valesence. I don’t think Lion’s Road cared one way or the other, and UWL was behind Genry McCray the second I won their world title earlier this year. Not Robb. When I won the SPW Heavyweight Championship on the first show, he met we behind the curtain and told me “You’re my guy.” I remember that when I get told by people, I don’t have the personality or the look to carry a company. I remember there is a place that took a chance on a guy who just wanted to fight the good fight and make history, and now that I’m back, I’m aiming to make history again, by being the first man to win every singles title Seattle Pro has to offer in a single year! Thank you very much.
James raises a hand to the crowd and receives a standing ovation.

CHARLES HUDSON: Very deserving Lou.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: James Edwards has done nearly everything in Seattle Pro Wrestling!
CHARLES HUDSON: AJ Knight is a surprise choice as his inductor though. We’ve not seen or heard much out of him since losing the World Heavyweight Championship.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Ladies and gents we’re just getting started!
