VIVINT SMART HOME ARENA - SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH
CONFLICT IS LIVE FROM SALT LAKE CITY INSIDE THE VIVINT SMART HOME ARENA! HOME OF THE UTAH JAZZ!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Ladies and Gentlemen it's Saturday Night and we're Live from Salt Lake City for CONFLICT!
CHARLES HUDSON: Coral Rose defends the Heavyweight Championship against Derrick La’Bell in the Main Event!
“Over” by Drake plays as the crowd begins to buzz.
And this what I'ma do 'til it's over
'Til it's over
But it's far from over!"
When the first verse hits, the lights flash in shades of gold and white, as Billy bursts on to the stage, wearing a fine-tailored suit, as he soaks in the crowd reaction! The arena is filled with a mix of cheers and jeers.
GRAHAM STEVENS: Making his way to the ring at this time from Chicago, Illinois...BILLY—DANIELSON!
Billy hypes up the crowd as he starts to walk down the ramp!
I could teach you how to speak my language
Rosetta Stone
I Swear this life is like the sweetest thing
I've ever known
Billy walks down to the ringside area, and wipes his feet before going up the stairs. He steps onto the apron, and smirks at the camera as he steps through the ropes.
This wouldn't be the First time
I done it throwin' hundreds
When I should be throwin ones
Bitch, I Run It!
Ahh!
Billy goes to the corner, and motions for a microphone. Once he get the mic, he stands in the center of the ring, and smirks.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: I’m sure Danielson has a lot on his mind after MAINSTREAM a few weeks ago.
CHARLES HUDSON: The man has had a tremendous year, but it all came crashing down really fast after that Triple Threat.
BILLY DANIELSON: You know…I’ve had a long time to think about everything that has happened these past few months. The Horsemen, my title run… all of it. There was a lot that went down since June, and to say sorry for any of it would be both empty and futile. Do I admit all those things I did wrong were not necessarily the best things to do to others, especially those things that I did to the people I used to call friend? Yea, they were pretty shitty of me, not gonna lie, but one thing I have always lived by is to put #1 first. That’s always been kind of my downfall though, because I never truly cared how it would affect others.
Danielson pauses as he looks down for a minute, and puts his hands behind his suit jacket. The crowd makes some noise, but goes silent again as Billy begins to speak.
BILLY DANIELSON: The things I did have certainly brought me to a level of fame I have never imagined, and I know I’ve said this before, but it has always been the fact that you guys have always been there, whether I was spouting hate or not, cheering me on, because the fans of professional wrestling are the only people to be able to look past the terrible things that happen in this ring, and still love you for who you are. Which is wonderful, and I love that, but you guys don’t realize, just because you guys are willing to look past the lives that are ruined by people like me, doesn’t mean those things don’t happen. This industry is built on grudges and on spite, and it’s because we allow ourselves to become bigger than the rest of humanity, and that should be the way it is.
“Those grudges linger, but like I said, I don’t want to apologize, and I don’t want forgiveness. No, see, I want closure, and there is some unfinished business I have with someone. Someone that earned their way to the top, and I chopped them down, because of my own insecurities. I held a grudge that has lasted nearly a year, and I let that grudge take control of me, and I lost my title because of it, and I lost the people I cared about because of it. This grudge has consumed me, and even now I refuse to let it go without the closure it deserves. That’s why I am calling out the one man that I consider my equal in this entire company… Bryan Blaze… because I want just one more match, so we can finally end this once and for all!”
The crowd go crazy, as they wait to see is “The Avenger” Bryan Blaze will come out to accept the challenge.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Oh my ! Billy Danielson calls out his former friend and former Heavyweight Champion, Bryan Blaze! If Bryan Accepts, we can have our first Match of the Year candidate for 2018. The amount of animosity between these two, and the chemistry, has proven to be the blueprint for instant classics.
CHARLES HUDSON: Asking for one more match, rather than beg forgiveness. That's why Danielson is a former Heavyweight Champion. He knows the only way to get anything in this industry is to get it in the ring. Very admirable for someone trying to turn over a new leaf in this company. However, will Bryan even give him the opportunity?
MCKAYLA LEWIS: These two were in what many considered the biggest rivalry in 2017, but it has kind of fallen off after the incident now known as the “Implosion of the Midnight Horsemen”, which started when Coral Rose not only won the title, but ended up retaining by kicking Danielson in the groin, robbing him off a victory.
There is an electricity in the air, as Danielson and the capacity crowd wait on an answer...then, the lights go out and the crowd roars!
“The Vengeful One” blasts through the arena and the lights return to the image of Bryan Blaze standing at the top of the ramp, in a white trench coat and mask. As his music continues through its first verse, Blaze makes his way down the aisle. He does not take his eyes off of Danielson, for even a moment. He grabs a microphone from Graham Stevens at ringside, and steps into the ring.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: This is a highly combustible situation!
CHARLES HUDSON: We better have security on stand by...
Blaze continues to eye Danielson, tilting his head to the side. He then shakes his head, before raising the microphone to his lips. The crowd starts chanting “ONE MORE MATCH”, forcing Blaze to lower the microphone as he looks out to the Seattle Pro faithful. He raises the microphone once more.
BRYAN BLAZE: The man...you see before you, Billy Danielson, is a direct consequence of the actions of you, and you alone, over the course of the past year. You are correct that there are unfinished issues between you and I…
“But you want closure? That's it?”
“Well, THIS ISN'T ABOUT YOU!”
“This is about what you STOLE FROM ME.”
“You tried and tried to put me out. To ruin me. To send me back into a tailspin like the last time I was removed from wrestling for FIVE YEARS.”
“You put my daughter in harm's way. You got that?”
“You don't get to take that back. I won't let you. This thing between us, it's hurting my family. I will not let it continue. There is just one way to accomplish that.”
Blaze edges closer to Danielson.
BRYAN BLAZE: Last. Man...STANDING!
CHARLES HUDSON: OH MY!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Did Bryan Blaze just suggest what I think he suggested?
Billy looks some what in shock. He takes a moment to process what Bryan just said.
BILLY DANIELSON: If you think I’m the only guilty party in this, Bryan, you’re more broken than I thought. I admit that I caused a lot of harm, but this thing that has been between us, has been happening long before Seattle Pro. I’ll accept your upped ante, but it isn’t FOR you. You want vengeance, Bryan, that’s all well and good. If you think that will rectify the wrongs I did, great. However, I already said that I'm not doing this to earn your forgiveness.
“Everytime you and I have faced off in this company, there has been interference. I just want to prove once and for all which one of us is the better wrestler. No more horsemen, no more crusaders of morality. Just Billy "The GOAT" Danielson versus "The Avenger" Bryan Blaze, one on one, in the final battle to end this blood war we have raged. I am doing this because I want to prove once and for all that there is a definitive superior, and when I beat you at Mainstream, I will begin my first steps back towards MY Seattle Pro Heavywe...”
Blaze slaps the microphone out of Billy’s hands. Billy takers his jacket off, and starts to take his tie up, but Bryan puts his face right in front of Billy’s. Bryan moves the microphone up to where his voice can get picked up.
BRYAN BLAZE: You are not superior to me, and you will NOT beat me, Billy. Your own avarice will be your downfall, and I will continue to avenge the misdeeds that have been done to me by you and your former coalition of degenerates. At Mainstream, the last man standing won’t be a man at all
“It will be the monster...THAT YOU CREATED!”
The crowd explodes, as Billy and Bryan continue to stare each other down.
CHARLES HUDSON: THE BLOOD FEUD WILL CONTINUE!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: One last time, for all the glory. Billy Danielson will meet Bryan Blaze in a last man standing match at Mainstream: Greed, in Las Vegas!
The camera zooms in on Billy and Bryan, who refuse to back up even an inch. The scene fades to commercial as the two men stare each other down before the commercial break.
