MAINSTREAM WRESTLING IS LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS, NEVADA AND WE’RE INSIDE THE MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA FOR GREED II!
Kevin Bombay standing confidently in the center of the ring, the spotlight shining down on him as the crowd roars with excitement. The energy in the MGM Grand Garden Arena is electric.
KEVIN BOMBAY: Las Vegas! Are you ready for an incredible night of action?!"
The crowd erupts with cheers and chants of "Mainstream Wrestling!"
KEVIN BOMBAY: Tonight is a monumental night as we crown new World Tag Team Champions! The Tag Team division is the backbone of Mainstream Wrestling. It’s where teamwork, strategy, and chemistry come together to create something truly special. But let’s be real, folks—we need to rebuild this division from the ground up. Even if that means bringing together singles performers who may not have teamed up before, we’re going to roll the dice and see what magic we can create!
The audience cheers, showing their support for the Tag Team division.
KEVIN BOMBAY: It’s good to be back in Las Vegas! This city is known for its high stakes and excitement, and tonight, we’re taking that spirit into the ring! As we approach the Eight Year Anniversary of Mainstream Wrestling on November 24th, I can’t help but feel the anticipation in the air. And for the first time ever, the show of shows will take place in the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City!
The crowd reacts with excitement, the mention of Madison Square Garden stirring up memories of wrestling history.
KEVIN BOMBAY: That’s right! We’re rolling out the red carpet for a night that will go down in the history books. And let’s not forget, we’ll also be welcoming a new class of Hall of Fame inductees! This is an exciting time for Mainstream Wrestling, and I can’t wait to see who will join the ranks of legends.
He takes a moment to soak in the atmosphere, the crowd chanting once again.
KEVIN BOMBAY: I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you here in Vegas. Your energy, your passion, and your support are what make this company thrive. I hope you enjoy the show tonight because we have a night packed with amazing matches and unforgettable moments lined up for you!
As he gestures to the audience, the cheers continue, creating an electric atmosphere.
KEVIN BOMBAY: Let’s get this show on the road and make some memories together! Are you ready?!
The crowd roars in approval as Kevin grins, soaking in the energy.
Mainstream Wrestling comes back from commercial with the camera focused McKayla Lewis and Charles Hudson at ringside.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Ladies and gentlemen, just four weeks ago, we witnessed the end of the in-ring career of none other than Biggs, when Jason Cashe pinned him to send him off into the sunset.
CHARLES HUDSON: He went out on his shield, Lou. But despite that, we have footage of what occurred backstage following that epic match. Let’s roll it.
The feed cuts to…
T-MOBILE PARK
FOUR WEEKS AGO…
Biggs is seen on the stage, his daughter Mei-Ling in his arms, his wife Chelsea by his side, waving to the Mainstream faithful as a loud “THANK YOU BIGGS! THANK YOU BIGGS!” chant is going on. He disappears with his family behind the curtain, and the camera switches to the gorilla position, where Jason Cashe is already hanging out, and Bobby Larson is there to greet his mentor and adopted family. Not even giving Biggs a chance to hand his daughter off, Bobby wraps both of them in a big hug. Biggs pats Bobby on the side, not able to get his arm up any further. There are tears in Bobby’s eyes as he embraces “The Spaceman.”
BOBBY LARSON: Thank you. Thank you so much for all you’ve given me. Thank you for making me the man I am today…
Biggs taps Bobby on the ribs to signal that he needs to break the hug, as Mei-Ling is getting very fidgety. He hands his daughter to Chelsea, and places his hands on Bobby’s shoulders, looking his protegee right in the eyes.
BIGGS: Don’t give me credit for that, Bobby. All I did was help point you in the right direction. You put in all the hard work to be who you are today, and I’m so very proud of you.
Bobby can’t help but be a little choked up as he replies.
BOBBY LARSON: Man, don’t be so humble. You’ve given me a home, you’ve given me a world class education in wrestling, and you’ve given me a second gosh darn family, man! I never knew my father, but I’ll be damned if you didn’t become like a dad to me…
Biggs pulls Bobby in close again, embracing him. In the background, Mei-Ling can be seen reaching towards Cashe, and he obliges, taking the child into his arms as she delightedly sings “Unca Cashe! Unca Cashe!” There’s a slight chuckle in Biggs’ voice as he begins to tear up as well.
BIGGS: Watch your mouth in front of your little sister…
?: Ahem, Bobby, don’t hog him all to yourself!
Echo Layne enters the scene, trying to force her way between Bobby and Biggs for a hug. The two men oblige, allowing Echo to squeeze in. After a few moments, they all release the hug.
JASON CASHE: Ahem to you, sis, barging in like that!
Echo rolls her eyes at Jason, but her eyes light up as she catches the attention of the toddler in Jason’s arms.
ECHO LAYNE: Aren’t you just a little cutie! You’re gonna be in trouble when she gets older, Biggs.
BIGGS: Don’t tell me that! By the way, Mei-Ling, this is Auntie Echo…
MEI-LING: Auntie Echo!
JASON CASHE: Uncle Jason is cooler, don't forget that…
Echo gives Cashe a stern stare as he reluctantly hands Mei Ling over.
ECHO LAYNE: You just come right over here you sweet little thing, you!
Echo takes Mei-Ling out of Jason’s arms and bounces her a bit, much to the child’s delight.
?: POPPA BIGGS!
The voice coming from off-screen belongs to Blake O’Reilly, who comes in and practically tackles Biggs to the ground with a forceful hug.
BIGGS: Holy smokes, Blake! It’s great to see you, man! I didn’t even know you were here!
BLAKE O’REILLY: You think I’d miss your last match? C’mon man, you know that’d be a crock of shit for me to pull a dick move like that!
Bobby smacks Blake hard on the back, his eyebrows furrowed.
BOBBY LARSON: Language! We got a toddler here!
Mei-Ling is too busy playing with Echo and Jason to notice Blake’s swearing, but Blake is still sheepish.
BLAKE O’REILLY: Sorry about that.
BLAKE O’REILLY: Look Poppa Biggs… The Smokin Aces… Team Sexy… my career… every bit of success I ever reached in Mainstream… is because of you. Your knowledge… your skill. You are not just a guaranteed Hall of Famer to those people out there… you're a Hall of Famer in my heart.
Blake tears up as he speaks all of their time together goes through his head. He reaches out for another embrace before motioning for Bobby to come over and get in on the action.
BLAKE O’REILLY: I'm gonna go back to Mainstream… And try to live up to your legacy Sir.
Biggs and Blake exchange another warm embrace. As they disengage and Blake moves to the side, standing there is the Mainstream Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, Lex Collins. There’s a moment between the two of quiet acknowledgement. That despite everything that had transpired between the two, there was still a deep connection. Lex breaks the silence.
LEX COLLINS: Long time no see, brother…
BIGGS: Right back atcha.
Biggs extends his hand out for a handshake, but Lex does him one better, pulling him in for a massive bear hug. The two embrace for a brief moment and an eternity all at once. As the hug comes to a close, Biggs wipes his eyes.
LEX COLLINS: Shiiit, bro. If that makes you go soft…
Collins reaches into the pocket of his jean jacket, pulling out something in his fist. He opens his hand and extends it to Biggs, showing him a small enamel pin of an orange cat dressed like an astronaut. With a sheepish smile, he explains the odd gift.
LEX COLLINS: Freddie – my youngest – thought your nickname was Space Cat for the longest time. The girls picked this up a couple weeks ago when we were down in Florida and went to the Space Center. Allegra thought you’d get a kick out of it, insisted she got it especially for you because she knew we were gonna… y’know..
He trails off, almost embarrassed as he drops the pin into the hand of Biggs who stares at it for a moment, clearly overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from his friends.
BIGGS: Man alive, I feel like the luckiest man in the world tonight. I don’t know what else to say but thank you. Thank you for being there for me. Thank you for being my friends. Why don’t we blow this popsicle stand and go get some food! On me of course! And no, Jason, we’re not going to Taco Bell!
JASON CASHE: You blow up a Taco Bell bathroom just one time…
BIGGS: It was more than one time!
JASON CASHE: Lies! Filthy lies!
Mei-Ling walks up to Cashe, asking her to pick him up. He obliges. She looks her new uncle dead in the eyes, and with total seriousness, says something only a child would say.
MEI-LING: It’s okay, Unca Cashe, everyone poops.
Everyone can’t help but laugh at the precociousness of the young girl, and Cashe hands her back to Biggs.
JASON CASHE: Your kid is a farter and a smart ass.. Take her..
BIGGS: Language, and yes, I am well aware.
The love fest comes to a close with discussions of where to eat.
The camera cuts back to Lewis and Hudson.
CHARLES HUDSON: For what it’s worth, Lou, I was invited to go to dinner as well. We ended up at Ruth Chris’s Steakhouse, though we did stop at McDonald’s to get Jason Cashe a Happy Meal!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Did he at least give the toy to Mei-Ling?
The banter is interrupted by The Killers’ “Spaceman” hitting the speakers, drawing a huge pop from the crowd! Biggs emerges from the back, wearing a Killers T-Shirt and blue jeans. He has a mic in hand and waits for the music to die down. He waits even longer as loud chants of “THANK YOU BIGGS! THANK YOU BIGGS!” fill the T-Mobile Arena. The chant goes for over a minute before Biggs finally has a chance to talk.
BIGGS: Las Vegas, you’re too kind.
Las Vegas responds with a “NO WE’RE NOT! NO WE’RE NOT!” chant that gets a chuckle out of “The Spaceman.”
BIGGS: Now you’re all probably wondering why I’m here, considering that I am now very much retired. The fact is, of all the places Mainstream Wrestling has traveled over the years, Las Vegas is one of the places that has always treated me the best, right up there with San Francisco and my hometown of Seattle, and as selfish as it may sound, I wanted a chance to say thank you in person. So to every fan here in the arena, and all the fans watching at home from fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, thank you!
Biggs gives a thumbs up to the crowd as they cheer.
BIGGS: That being said, let’s be honest here, if that’s the only business I had here tonight, Kevin Bombay probably wouldn’t have given me the time for self indulgence. So, without further ado, though my time as an in-ring competitor for Mainstream Wrestling has come to a close, I am pleased to announce that my time as a Mainstream talent has not! Ladies and gentleman, you are looking at the host of Mainstream Wrestling’s newest Talk Show, The Bigg Time!
The fans pop at the announcement.
BIGGS: Now it’s been a good long time since there’s been a professional wrestling talk show that’s worth a damn, so I stand before you tonight to say that The Bigg Time will not be some softball lobbing fluff piece…REAL DEAL
“I'm a Star" By Jeremih hits as Blake O'Reilly struts out with a cocky unphased swagger. He is all smiles As he makes his way down to the ring hopping on the apron before slingshotting in As he extends his arms as if you say ‘Hey Buddy!’
BLAKE O’REILLY: POPPA BIGGS! My man! My mentor! You didn’t tell me you were going to be here tonight! Bring it in!
Blake awkwardly goes in to hug Biggs, who reciprocates, though with a slightly perturbed look on his face. Once the hug breaks, Blake continues.
BLAKE O’REILLY: I am so excited that you’re here tonight to watch me win one half of the Mainstream World Tag Team Championships tonight! It won’t be the same without Bobby, but hey, at least I have a chance!
BIGGS: I’m happy for you, Blake, I really am, but I’m kind of in the middle of something here, buddy.
Blake gets a sheepish look on his face, looking out to the crowd before turning back to Biggs.
BLAKE O’REILLY: Oh did I just… oops oh man, hey just do your thing, I’ll see you backstage!
Blake saunters back through the curtain to the backstage area. Biggs slightly rolls his eyes before turning back to the crowd.
BIGGS: So back to what I was saying, The Bigg Time will not be your father’s wrestling talk show! I will ask the hard hitting questions that wrestling fans want answered. The Bigg Time will feature the biggest stars, talking about the biggest rivalries, all with the host with the biggest personality. The first episode is coming soon! Thank you!
Biggs waves to the crowd as “Spaceman” hits again. Blake re-emerges from the curtain, greeting Biggs again, and talking his ear off. Mercifully, the mic is turned off.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Big news from Biggs here tonight, no pun intended, but what the heck is going on with Blake O’Reilly? Can the man not read the room?
CHARLES HUDSON: Even in retirement, Biggs is a busy man. I’m sure it was just an oversight not telling Blake he was going to be here tonight. Still, that will give Blake extra motivation in tonight’s 8-Person Ladder Match for the Tag Team Titles!
The camera cuts backstage to the Gorilla Position, where Blake is still talking a mile a minute.
BLAKE O’REILLY: Poppa Biggs, you would do me a huge honor being ringside tonight for my match! I want you to be right there when I grab one of those tag belts!
BIGGS: Trust me, Blake, if I could I would. But with that many moving parts, and that much hardware around the ring, plus the fact that my managerial license is lapsed, I’m going to have to watch it back here. But I’m pulling for you 100%, buddy! I know you’re capable of it! Go knock ‘em out!
There’s a slight look of disappointment on the face of Blake O’Reilly, but it quickly shifts into a big grin.
BLAKE O’REILLY: Anything for you, Poppa Biggs! Just watch the Real Deal do his thing.
The two men exchange a high five and Biggs walks off while Blake stands there smiling, appearing to be incredibly sure of himself.
