PREVIOUSLY RECORDED… A seat in front of a poker table illuminated as a shadow sits in it, a glass of scotch and cigar smoke pouring out. The man in the seat picks up the poker chips and lets them fall. The man was the recently debuted Alan Envy, renowned worldwide and successful professional wrestler. His face comes into the light as he is shown to be dressed immaculately.
ALAN ENVY: The best poker players in the world all have one trait that they all have to have, and it's the poker face. Emotions, not showing in your face what you have. Everyone wants to know why after all this time Alan Envy is finally in Mainstream Wrestling. Why did I interrupt Chris Madison. The answer….is I'm not ready to show my hand. I'm not ready to call.
He puffs the cigar as he looks at his hand then slowly reveals it, all Aces.
ALAN ENVY: The Dealer has all the cards, and lets just say having Alan Envy here in Mainstream Wrestling is a winner for all. Just sit back, relax, and watch me play all the cards right. Welcome to my game.

BACKSTAGE... Standing by is Samantha Kinsley with Chris Madison.
SAMANTHA KINSLEY: Ladies and Gentlemen--I am standing by with former World Heavyweight Champion...Chris Madison!
CHRIS MADISON: No disrespect Sam but everybody knows I use to be the World Heavyweight Champion. And someday when I want to--I will be again. But for now can we drop the former tag line?
SAMANTHA KINSLEY: Absolutely. Two weeks ago you came face to face with the latest addition to the Mainstream Wrestling roster. Alan Envy. What is your thoughts?
CHRIS MADISON: It's all about the timing Sam. Alan Envy has been around a while--probably as long as I have. He knew the best way to make an impact was to go after the biggest dog in the yard and what better way than to step in my spotlight. I don't blame him. He got the attention he wanted, from the media to twitter, hell everybody on the internet is speculating when the world is going to see Chris Madison versus Alan Envy and I don't have the answer to that question. All I know is that he knows where to find me, I don't make the matches...I just fight the people they tell me to fight. For example, tonight it's Gareth Prichard and I--one on one for the first time since his debut over a year ago. I won the last time but things were very different from then to now. He's the World Television Champion, we're both winners of the Governor's Cup and we've even been tag team partners of late. Tonight we're opponents...GPJ, I'll see you out there in the ring!
Madison exits the frame leaving Samantha Kinsley alone to send us back to commercial break.

SINGLES MATCH
★★★ CHRIS MADISON ★★★ vs ★★★ GARETH PRICHARD JR ★★★
The bell rings and this match is now officially underway! Gareth Prichard Jr and Chris Madison stare at each other; Madison smiling at the new World Television Champion, he knows he has Prichard’s number and Gareth knows this very well – too well, probably; as he’s content with just circling around his opponent and is very hesitant to engage with the former World Champion… to the point Prichard just slides out of the ring, forcing Chris to go chase him and start a brawl on the outside where Madison gets the best out of the exchange throwing Prichard back into the ring, looking to continue an onslaught – but that seemed to be Prichard’s plan as he rolls to his feet and stomps Madison as he’s sliding into the ring, targeting the shoulder and neck area – the same strategy he has used against many opponents in order to soften the area for his “Tudor Rose”.
Madison pushes himself up to one knee and catches a side leg kick by Prichard then sends him down to the mat with a dragon screw leg whip. Madison locks in an ankle lock! Prichard pushes himself up trying to fight the urge to work towards the ropes as Madison tries to twist his foot off. Prichard tries to roll himself close enough to Madison that he could get a hold of one of his legs. Madison stands upright and lifts Prichard clean off of the mat as he transitions from the ankle lock to a stretch muffler! Prichard reaches towards the ropes but is too far to reach. Prichard uses his core strength to pull himself up and counters the Stretch Muffler with a head scissor takedown! Madison hits the mat but bounces right back up to his feet. Prichard shakes his leg and then charges towards him looking for a running crossbody. Madison catches Prichard in the air and brutally snaps him backwards with a capture suplex! Madison lays across Prichard and hooks a leg for 1…2…KICKOUT!
Prichard gets up with a smirk on his face, Madison tilts his head looking a bit confused by the gesture from his opponent. Both Prichard and Madison circle each other looking for a new opening to attack and then they both lock up in the middle of the ring. The test of strength clearly benefits Madison who quickly takes advantage and drives Prichard to the ropes only for the Welshman to take his hands off and hit Madison with a “Stockton Slap”. This makes Madison see red as he launches himself towards Prichard looking to make him pay. The King of Failure is prepared for that and throws Madison down with a hip toss and quickly transitions into an arm bar. Prichard puts pressure on Madison’s arm, as Madison fights the urge to get to the ropes. Chris crawls to a spot close to the ropes, but he doesn’t seem to be looking for a rope break or even the ropes at all, he moves his feet and positions himself perfectly to push his legs against the corner of the ring and roll out of the arm bar.
Prichard smiles, acknowledging Madison’s veteran skills but he doesn’t sleep on it, because as soon as he’s back on his knees, Madison comes rushing towards him looking for a knee. Prichard manages to barely dodge Madison’s strike and gets back to his feet, planting Madison with an inverted DDT. The King of Failure then goes to work on Madison’s arm and shoulder stomping it repeatedly and looking to overextend it with repeated pulls. Prichard seems to be enjoying dissecting Madison at this point of the match, taking -- maybe -- too much time setting up his next move, enough time that Madison recovers and kips up engaging in a wild exchange of slaps and punches with Prichard. Chris being the bigger of the two manages to use his body to push Prichard against the corner where he unloads a series of body shots that are clearly leaving a mark on Prichard. Yet, the Welshman seems to be enjoying this a little bit too much as he allows some free hits from Madison, that in turn allow him to clap Madison’s ears and back him up from him; giving Gareth enough space to run and hit Madison with a running arched big boot that plants Madison on the floor and allows Prichard to cover for 1…2…KICKOUT!
Gareth Prichard takes both hands lifting Madison’s head up off the mat and leading him to his feet. He shoves him back into the corner and lands two right hands for good measure. He backs up into the opposite corner looking to gain some momentum heading back towards Madison in the corner and he leaps looking for a big splash! But nobody home as he hits chest first on the top turnbuckle pad! Gareth Prichard Jr steps backward with his arms covering his chest in pain. Madison had rolled out and traps Gareth in an Imanari Roll finishing up with a Calf Slicer. Prichard tries as hard as he can to escape the hold, but the pain and the tightness are too strong, and he begins sliding towards the ropes. Gareth stomps periodically on his opponent trying to alleviate the pain and make Madison break the hold a bit or for a second as he continues sliding. Once near the ropes, Prichard amasses the last of his strength and grabs the ropes as if his life depended on them.
…1! …2! …3! …4!
Chris doesn’t let go of the hold until the count of four and then he backs off with his hands up in the air, with a smile on his face. Madison lifts Prichard up and sends him into the ropes instead. Prichard rebounds right into the waiting arms of Madison who lifts him up, spins him around, and drops him across his knee with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! The War Machine looks down at his opponent who is crawling towards the corner. Madison backs himself up against the opposite corner, waving for Gareth to stand up. Prichard pulls himself up to his feet and turns into a running Yakuza kick. Prichard slumps forward into Madison’s arms. He quickly lifts the Welshman up with a vertical suplex and moves to the center of the ring. Madison swings Prichard forward instead of falling backwards, driving him down onto the canvas with a side slam and then immediately locking in an anaconda vice!
Out of desperation, Prichard kicks his legs up, catching Madison’s with a head scissor. He pulls back until Madison is forced to release the hold. Both men scramble to their feet but Madison is up first. The King of Failure attempts a rising lariat, but Madison ducks under and traps his arm behind his back. Madison quickly snaps Prichard back to the mat with a hammerlock back suplex. Madison grabs the ankle and foot of the World Television Champion and lifts him up off the mat then slams his knee against the mat. Madison holds on tight though, he puts his foot on the back of Gareth’s knee lifting it up then stomping down on the bend of his leg! The official intervenes to check on Prichard. Moments pass by with Chris Madison standing in his corner following his focused attack on the leg of the World Television Champion, Gareth is seen limping a bit afterwards.
The “War Machine” smells blood in the water and goes for the kill, throwing himself against Prichard’s leg repeatedly, forcing the Welshman to stay on his knees. A defiant TV champ puts both of his middle fingers up and throws a lazy punch at Madison’s abdomen just in time for Chris to lock in his Peruvian Necktie. Gareth Prichard Jr is in a world of hurt right now! The official checks on him from the far side but an unexpected stomp to the back and shoulder blade to Chris Madison from Alan Envy with the run in causes him to release the hold and the official to call for the bell!
GRAHAM STEVENS: Your winner by way of disqualification is Chris Madison. Alan Envy removes his suit jacket and begins whipping it across the back of Chris Madison. He runs up with a kick to the midsection that sends Madison over onto his back. Envy begins the mounted punches with a chorus of boos from the fans in attendance. Gareth Prichard Jr is back to his feet but Alan Envy clotheslines him over the top rope as he tries to stop him. Envy rips his collared shirt off without unbuttoning it. Buttons fly every where as he tosses the shirt down at his side.
CHARLES HUDSON: I didn’t even know Alan Envy was even here tonight!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: What a heinous attack by Envy!
Envy exits the ring retrieving a chair from the time keepers table and he re-enters the ring. He chooses not to unfold it but instead lay it down in the center of the ring. He grabs Madison from his neck and head and leads him up to his feet. Envy pulls him in for his signature cradle pile driver that he calls ‘Envious Demise’!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Oh no. Right on top of the steel chair!
CHARLES HUDSON: He’s busted open! Jesus Christ.
Alan Envy scoots back then gets up off the mat leaving the former World Heavyweight Champion beaten and battered. Gareth Prichard Jr rolls into the ring to assist Chris Madison but it’s too late and now Alan Envy exits the ring as “Swear it to the Sun” by Voodoo Johnson begins to play inside the Enterprise Center.
CHARLES HUDSON: In a match where we saw the last two winners of the Governor’s Cup square off for the first time in a year it was a classic wrestling match that ended in like you said a ‘heinous attack’.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Chris Madison may have been awarded the victory by way of DQ but neither of these men feel like celebrating right now. Alan Envy has high expectations here in Mainstream Wrestling and he’s targeted one of the top dogs in the former longest reigning World Champion in the company’s history. Medical personnel are checking in on both Gareth Prichard Jr and Chris Madison as we speak and hopefully after a quick evaluation we’ll have an update for you when we return from the break.

EARLIER TODAY… The scene opens up in Biggs’ personal gym in the basement of his Seattle home. White walls, blue mats on the floor, two wrestling rings set up with state of the art equipment spread about the gym. In one of the rings, Team Sexy are sparring with Biggs and Lex Collins. Biggs is paired off with Bobby Larson, while Lex works with Blake O’Reilly. Lex and Blake are in a Collar-and-Elbow Tie Up, with Lex switching levels and getting right behind Blake, muscling him up for a Gutwrench Side Slam. Biggs and Bobby are dancing about the ring, each avoiding shots from the other, when Lex comes up right behind Bobby and blasts him with a Forearm Shot to the back of the head!
BIGGS: TIME! Let’s huddle up!
Bobby rubs the back of his head as Blake pushes himself up off the mat.The Smokin’ Aces all meet in the center of the ring. Bobby has a sour look on his face and snaps at Lex.
BOBBY LARSON: Man, Lex, I thought this was just trainin’! You didn’t have to put on blast like that!
BLAKE O’REILLY: Quit whining, Bobby!
BIGGS: Both of you shut up! Bobby, you’ve been with me long enough to know that we train rough. Lex has been in this business for as long as you’ve been alive, and the two of us are trying to get you two ready for your match this Sunday at Mainstream 89. It’s gonna be the first Main Event for you two, and not to put too fine a point on it, but when you go out there to defend the Mainstream Tag Team Championships, you’re not just representing yourselves, you’re representing all of us!
LEX COLLINS: Don’t forget, Biggs and myself are also trainin’ for the ECC. We are tryin’ to get you lot ready for your match while preparing ourselves for ours.
BIGGS: We have the opportunity on Sunday night to assert our strength and prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that The Smokin’ Aces are the most dominant faction in Mainstream Wrestling! And quite frankly, you two have been the weak links as of late. We’re only as good as our last match.
BLAKE O’REILLY: Well with all due respect, Poppa Biggs, you lost your last match too!
Biggs smacks Blake right across the face in an emasculating manner.
BIGGS: Me losing to Lex here is a completely different beast than the way you laid down for Alexandria Monroe. He and I went to war and pushed each other past our limits! She caught you with your pants down and took advantage. Would you call your match with Alex one of your better performances?
Blake looks down at his feet in shame.
BLAKE O’REILLY: No sir…
Bobby stands next to his partner, a sheepish look on his face, as he knows the hammer is about to drop on him.
BIGGS: And speaking of pants being down, Bobby, you need to start thinking with your big head instead of your little one! I know you’re sweet on Echo, and I certainly don’t blame you for that, but inside that ring, you got to set aside all friendships. I had to learn that lesson the hard way with Echo myself. The only difference is, I was able to focus and work through it. You were not and you flat out embarrassed yourself! You embarrassed us! In a Tornado Tag Match, you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times! In the chaos, if your partner goes down, you are susceptible to being double teamed, that’s why Lex put you on notice with that Forearm Shot! You need to get the butterflies from Echo out of your stomach and know that once that bell sounds, she will take any opening you give her to hurt you! And same with Alex. Outside the ring, Echo may be the biggest sweetheart around, but between those ropes, she’s a stone cold killer! And Alex Monroe has none of the sweetness of her partner, but all of the skill. They are formidable foes, and you need to treat them as such!
LEX COLLINS: If it seems like we’re bein’ hard on you boys, it’s ‘cause we see the potential in you. You’re the Tag Team Champions for crying out loud! You can do better, and you must do better if you wanna keep those Titles.
BLAKE O’REILLY: Point taken. We’ll do better…
Biggs gets right in Blake’s face.
BIGGS: Don’t just do better, be better.
BOBBY LARSON: We’ll be better, sir.
BIGGS: Darn right you will. Now hands in the center.
All four men put their hands in the center as Lex begins to fire them up.
LEX COLLINS: Who are we!?
ALL: THE SMOKIN’ ACES!
LEX COLLINS: I SAID WHO ARE WE!?
ALL: THE SMOKIN’ ACES!
BIGGS: Damn right we are! And in St. Louis, we’re gonna go 3 and 0!
Blake slaps Bobby across the chest, and he responds in kind. Biggs looks towards Lex and gives him a nod of approval.
LEX COLLINS: Alright, what do ya say gentlemen? Let’s get back at it!
The men reset in the ring and continue their sparring session. As the vignette fades to black, the picture transitions to Samantha Kinsley backstage with Team Sexy, Blake O’Reilly and Bobby Larson in the backstage interview area. All three of them stand in front of the backdrop with the Emerald City Classic logo displayed boldly, and Bobby and Blake are still in their street clothes with the Tag Title belts slung over their respective shoulders. Samantha starts the interview.
SAMANTHA KINSLEY: It looks like you guys had quite the week of training leading up to your defense of the Mainstream Tag Team Titles tonight against Team Madness, Alexandria Monroe and Echo Layne.
BLAKE O’REILLY: That would be an understatement, Samantha, because Poppa Biggs and Lex straight up kicked our asses this week! And we deserved it. The bottom line is that Team Madness has had our number this past month.
BOBBY LARSON: And not our telephone numbers, though I have given mine to Echo on multiple occasions.
Blake slaps Bobby on the chest, giving him an annoyed look before continuing.
BLAKE O’REILLY: Tonight is our first Main Event match-up. And to be in the Main Event on the night of the first round of the Emerald City Classic, we understand that the lights don’t get much brighter than that! So tonight, Bobby and I have a responsibility not just to ourselves, not just to Biggs and Lex, but a responsibility to the art of Tag Team wrestling itself to show up and show out tonight!
BOBBY LARSON: You see, Ms. Kinsley, we are acutely aware of the fact that the cuties we’re facing off against tonight are more than just pretty faces! Echo and Alex are one of the top tag teams in the wrestling business today, and have held Tag Team gold everywhere they’ve been! They’re practically sisters, they know each other so well. Now I got to be honest with you, Tornado Tags aren’t my bag. But Blake and I have forged a bond through blood, sweat and pain, and if Team Madness thinks that they’re gonna run away with this because they’ve been a team longer than us, well they got another thing coming to them!
BLAKE O’REILLY: Team Sexy has something that Team Madness does not have, and that is the mentorship of both Biggs and Lex Collins. Their wealth of experience, their knowledge of wrestling gives Bobby and I an opportunity to learn from two of the very best in the world today, and if we’re this good this early in our careers, just imagine how great we’ll be down the line!
BOBBY LARSON: Because we’re more than just flash, we’re substance! Iron sharpens iron and all that jazz. So tonight, Echo and Alex, you’re gonna find out first hand why Team Sexy is the hottest tag team in all of wrestling, in more ways than one.
Bobby winks at the camera.
SAMANTHA KINSLEY: Well gentlemen, good luck in your match later tonight!
BLAKE O’REILLY: Thank you for having us.
Team Sexy walks off screen as Samantha turns flush with the camera.
SAMANTHA KINSLEY: We’ll see the Tornado Tag Team match for the Mainstream Tag Team Titles later tonight!

BACKSTAGE… SAMANTHA KINSLEY: I'm standing here with Team Madness, Echo Layne & Alexandria Monroe. Tonight, you face Team Sexy! For the Mainstream Tag Team Championships! How EXCITED are you?
ECHO LAYNE: Super super excited! Blake & Bobby are good, especially Bobby (Echo winked). But, they aren't Team Madness, they aren't as HUNGRY as we are to show EVERYONE that we truly run this tag team shit.
ALEXANDRIA MONROE: Samantha, we earned this. We deserve this. It's our time to shine, it's our time to once again show you why Team Madness are "Tag Team Specialist ''. We love this, we breathe this and I can guarantee that nobody has the Team Work that we do. It's time for us to add more championships to OUR collection.
SAMANTHA KINSLEY: Your cheap antics won't work tonight?
ECHO LAYNE: Wow, OKAY - watch your mouth, you're talking to the next tag team champions HERE. We don't use cheap antics, Sam. We just do whatever we have to walk out with our hands raised in the air.
SAMANTHA KINSLEY: I wouldn't count Team Sexy out.
ALEXANDRIA MONROE: Oh trust me we aren't, they are a threat (Alex laughed) and we're going to take some much needed weight off them tonight.
ECHO LAYNE: We never count anyone out, Sam. We're always ready for anything and everything. Team Sexy, they doubt us - but boy are they in for a BIG surprise. Don't hold back boys, because we're coming at you with everything we've got!
ALEXANDRIA MONROE: Watch us, The Reign Of Madness has just begun. Embrace it and live it.
Alexandria and Echo smirked before they skip off together making there way to the stage.
SAMANTHA KINSLEY: Tonight’s Main Event is Blake O’Reilly and Bobby Larson defending the World Tag Team Championships again Echo Layne and Alexandria Monroe and it’s UP NEXT!
Post by Robert Daniels on Aug 1, 2022 15:01:14 GMT -5
GRAHAM STEVENS: Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for your Mainstream 89 MAIN EVENT! The following contest is a Tornado Tag Team Match scheduled for one fall and is for the Mainstream Wrestling Tag Team Titles! Under Tornado Tag rules, all four competitors are considered legal at all times and there are no count outs, though a disqualification may still occur. The first team to score a pin fall or submission inside the ring will be declared the winner!
Holocene’s “All the Good Girls Go to Hell” hits the speakers, and the fans are on their feet as Alexandria Monroe and Echo Layne enter the arena! They’re wearing matching jean jackets, bedazzled with pink and purple rhinestones.
GRAHAM STEVENS: Making their way to the ring, the challengers, Alexandria Monroe and Echo Layne, Team Madness!
Echo slaps fives with the fans while Alex looks poised and focused. As they reach the ring, they roll in and toss off their ring jackets, flexing their muscles and leaning towards opposite sides as streamers shoot out of the turnbuckles!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: This is Team Madness’s second shot at the Mainstream Tag Team Titles against Team Sexy, but unlike last time, Echo Layne and Alexandria Monroe are coming in with all the momentum!
CHARLES HUDSON: Absolutely! Alex owns a singles victory over Blake O’Reilly and Echo flat out made a fool of Bobby Larson in their match two weeks ago. Team Sexy is going to have to stay focused if they hope to leave the champs.
Sirens blare and a Firetruck pulls up from backstage up next to the entrance ramp! Blake O’Reilly and Bobby Larson are in the front seat next to a Fireman, while women in red crop tops and shorts underneath fire jackets are hanging off the side of the truck! As the sirens stop blaring, Kygo’s remix of Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” hits the speakers and Team Sexy exits the truck, clad in Dalmatian patterned ring gear and fireman helmets, climbing on top of the truck as the dancers join them, and they all dance to the music while lights flash about the arena! In the ring, Echo is laughing and clapping along to the beat, while Alex just shakes her head!
GRAHAM STEVENS: And their opponents, representing the Smokin’ Aces, they are the Mainstream Wrestling Tag Team Champions, Blake O’Reilly and Bobby Larson, Team Sexy!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: I have seen some wild, over the top entrances in my day, but I can honestly say I’ve never seen one involving a fire truck.
CHARLES HUDSON: This is awesome!
By this point, Team Sexy and the dancers have made their way to the stage and have a dance in their step as they head down the ramp towards the ring! Team Sexy rolls under the ropes and the dancers surround the ring as Bobby and Blake each mount a turnbuckle and unclasp their Tag Team Title belts, raising them high in the air! The music fades and the dancers make their way back to the fire truck as Team Sexy hands the titles to the ref and removes their vests and helmets. The referee holds both belts up high before handing them down to Graham Stevens outside the ring.
MAIN EVENT MAINSTREAM WRESTLING WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
★★★ TEAM SEXY (C) ★★★ [BLAKE O’REILLY & BOBBY LARSON] vs ★★★ TEAM MADNESS ★★★ [ALEXANDRIA MONROE & ECHO LAYNE]
The bell rings and tonight’s Main Event is officially underway! Right from the jump, the two teams are going at it, Alexandria Monroe squaring off with Bobby Larson, while Blake O’Reilly pairs off with Echo Layne. Alex and Bobby trade punches, while Blake blocks a punch from Echo, and manhandles her up onto his shoulder for a Running Power slam! He’s quick to mount her and throw heavy fists, but Monroe sees this, and gives Bobby a rake across the eyes to disengage and rushes at Blake with a Sliding Clothesline to the back of the head, knocking him off of her partner! She helps Echo up, and the two begin stomping on Blake O’Reilly, kicking him while he’s down! Bobby recovers from the eye rake and rushes in from behind them, but they turn around in time to catch him with a Double-Team Back Body Drop that sends him crashing right on top of Blake! Alex shoves Bobby off of Blake and goes for the quick cover, 1…Blake gets his shoulder up emphatically! Echo gets a running start towards the ropes and nails Bobby in the back with a Baseball Slide that sends him rolling out of the ring to the arena floor, allowing her and Alex to double team Blake some more. Both women grab a hold of his head, pummeling him as they pull him up to a vertical base and Double-Team Whipping him into the ropes, Alex catching him with a Drop Toe Hold as Echo gives him a Leg Drop across the back of the neck!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Team Madness is doing exactly what they should be doing in a Tornado Tag Match, taking one opponent out so they can isolate the other and wear them down!
CHARLES HUDSON: Much easier said than done in a match type this chaotic!
Echo shoots the half, rolling Blake onto his back, pinning him while Alex looks to play defense, 1…2…Blake O’Reilly kicks out as Bobby gets a hold of Alexandria’s feet and drags her underneath the ropes! Bobby gives her a quick shove into the apron and smothers her with Knees to the midsection and Forearm Strikes to the face, while in the ring, Echo begins to pull Blake up off the mat. For his part, O’Reilly pops up, rocking Echo with an Uppercut, giving him the opening to hoist her up into a Gorilla Press position! Showing off his strength, O’Reilly marches around the ring with Echo extended high above his head before dropping her behind himself and immediately following up with a Standing Moonsault into a pin! 1…2…Echo gets her shoulder up! Meanwhile, Alex reaches up and gives Bobby a thumb to the eye, giving her some breathing room, and she bounces his head off the apron before sliding back in and hitting Blake from behind with a Running Polish Hammer right between the shoulder blades!
CHARLES HUDSON: Oh boy do I love me a good Polish Hammer! That maneuver is seen far too little this day in age, at least in my opinion!
Team Madness continues their double team tactics on Blake O’Reilly, with Echo locking on an Abdominal Stretch while Alexandria gives him some hard punches to the gut! Bobby Larson makes his way into the ring and gets a running start to hit a Running Forearm to the back of Echo’s head, breaking the hold! Enraged at the violence just inflicted against her partner, Alex makes a beeline for Bobby, who uses her anger against her with a Drop Toe Hold of his own! He floats over into a Side Headlock on the mat, punching the crown of her head as he pulls her up to her feet. Blake is up to a vertical base at this point as well, and Bobby shoves her off into Blake who hoists her up in position for a Powerbomb, with Bobby screaming in to catch her with a Neckbreaker on the way down! Blake makes the cover for 1…2…KICKOUT!
CHARLES HUDSON: They call that Powerbomb/Neckbreaker combination The Pickup Line!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: I’ve heard better.
CHARLES HUDSON: Really, Lou? What’s the best pickup line you’ve ever heard?
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Well let me preface this by saying that the following line did not work on me, but to this day I remember it.
CHARLES HUDSON: Well spit it out, Lou!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: When I was in college, a guy came up to me and said, “Girl, your pants are like the next contestant on the Price is Right! They should come on down!” Needless to say, I slapped him…
Inside the ring, Echo is back to her feet and she wallops Bobby with a massive Bitch Slap that takes him off his feet! Blake comes up to her, shoving her, telling her off, “Don’t be playin’ with my boy’s heart!” only to get a Bitch Slap of his own! Unlike Bobby, Blake doesn’t go down, and instead he grabs Echo by the arms, trapping her with some under hooks and gives her a stiff Head butt right between the eyes! Bobby is to his feet at this point, and he kicks Alex out underneath the ropes before turning and motioning for Blake to send Echo his way. Blake obliges, shooting Echo towards “Blue Lightning” who catches her for a Release Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex that sends her flying through the ropes and joining her partner on the arena floor! As Team Madness tries to regroup on the outside, Bobby strikes his Stupid Sexy Dab pose while Blake flexes his pecs, before getting a running start leaping over the top rope to nail Team Madness with stereo Suicide Planchas!
CHARLES HUDSON: Double the pleasure, double the fun, two Suicide Planchas for the price of one!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Okay Charles…
Blake and Bobby flex again as Blake picks Alex up by the hair; he then launches her over the guard rail and into the fans as the ground part to give them room. Blake hops over kicking a standing Alex in the gut then clubs her in the back causing her to arch up. He gloats a bit before being jabbed in the throat gasping for air. She grabs him by the neck and tosses him into what are now empty chairs as people are standing. Because she didn't actually use the chairs the ref let's it slide, which gets a big smirk from her. He catches her off guard with an uppercut to the gut as he then lifts her up with a back suplex and slams her on the stair rail! She holds her own back in pain as Blake mouths off to her catching a slap in the face for his troubles as she shoulder tackles him into the popcorn concession guy sending popcorn right into the air.
CHARLES HUDSON: I’d hate to have to clean up that mess!
At ringside, Bobby Larson and Echo Layne are exchanging blows fast and furious! Echo knocks Bobby in the chin with a particularly hard punch that spins him around, and Echo takes the opportunity to smack him right on the bottom! Bobby grabs his bum in pain as Echo continues to spank him, chasing him up the ramp to the backstage area!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Sad thing is, Bobby is probably enjoying that…That being said, remember, there are no count outs in this match, and it looks like the referee is going to allow some leeway, considering all four combatants have left the ringside area!
The camera switches back to Alexandria Monroe and Blake O’Reilly brawling their way up the stairs, the fans going wild and trying to slap their backs as they do so! Security has their work cut out for them, as Blake and Alex are going fast and furious! Blake gets the advantage, bouncing Alex’s face off the handrail, but this only serves to fire her up, and she kicks his legs out from beneath him, causing him to fall face first into the rail himself!
She pulls the dazed studmuffin underneath the rail, draping his arms over it, and slingshotting herself up and over, placing her boot into the small of his back as she locks her hands under his face for a handrail assisted Chin Lock! The ref starts a five count, and Alex lets go on four, holding her hands up to feign innocence before going right back to the Chin Lock! The exasperated referee starts the five count once more, and when Alexandria lets go this time, he steps right in to back her up.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m getting word from the production team that the camera being used to follow Echo Layne and Bobby Larson is experiencing technical difficulties and that the production team is trying to get another camera on them as soon as possible.
CHARLES HUDSON: I was wondering what they were up to!
The referee helps to untangle Blake’s arms from the handrail, while warning Monroe to stand back! Once Blake is untangled and back to his feet, the ref gives the signal that the fight is back on! Alex rushes in to try to give O’Reilly some Rabbit Punches, but Blake blocks them and shoves her hard up the stairs, causing her to trip and fall on her bottom! Alex nurses her tailbone as Blake pulls her up by the hair into a side headlock, dragging her to the tunnel, before bouncing her face off the wall!
Blake take the back of her neck and throws her against the tunnel wall laying in some hard shots against her temple as an arena staff member comes zooming through on a golf kart. Alex pushes Blake back and he is hit by the kart flying into a pile of cardboard boxes. Alex pounces on his laying in boot after boot as the staff looks on in horror. Blake and Alex continue to brawl as they carry their battle to the food area tumbling over the counter of the pretzel establishment.
MCKAYLA LEWIS: The is a dangerous situation for Blake O’Reilly and Alexandria Monroe! There are so many hot surfaces and sharp items back there!
Blake let's out a scream as he comes up and there is mustard all over his face and in his eyes as Alex snickers but then screams as well when Blake squirts ketchup into her hair. Blake then delivers a super kick that lays her out and he goes For a cover but the referee isn't anywhere near them and he calls out for him. The official comes sprinting all the way from one side of the counter to them and makes the count for the 1…2…KICKOUT!
CHARLES HUDSON: I guess the ref decided to make this Falls Count Anywhere!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: I don’t blame him, as chaotic as this match has become! He is the official in charge of this match, so it’s his prerogative.
Suddenly Echo's voice can be heard yelling. "REF!" From the opposite side and the red takes off full sprint towards them as Echo had Bobby pinned and the ref makes the count of 1…2…KICKOUT!
"REF!" Alex calls this time as the referee sighs and takes off again to Alex pinning Blake, 1…2..Blake reverses into a pin of his own, 1…2…KICKOUT!
"REF!" Again Bobby this time calling for the ref as he puts his hands on his hips and breathes hard. Bobby is standing at an ice cream concession stand, and as the ref comes over, Bobby says, “Hey, can you spot me 10 bucks?” The ref nods his head, pulling out his wallet and hands Bobby a $10 bill. “I’ll take a Strawberry Milkshake, two straws please,” Bobby says to the attendant as he hands her the bill, and then receives the change. He gives the ref the change and says, “I’ll get the rest after the match,” and waits patiently for his order. As the attendant hands Bobby his shake, Echo pops back into view, and Bobby turns to her, handing her the milkshake! Echo smiles and gives a polite, “Thank you!” and the two head over to a nearby table to sit down and enjoy the shake.
CHARLES HUDSON: Bobby Larson is one smooth operator!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: This is ridiculous, and considering the match we’ve seen thus far, that’s saying something!
CHARLES HUDSON: That’s not stopping Bobby! Until he sees a ring, he’s after that thing!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Word of advice, Charles, it’s probably best to not call a woman a “thing.”
At the pretzel stand, Alex bounces Blake’s mustard covered face off the counter, leaving a yellow imprint before rolling him over the counter to the floor. She climbs up onto the counter herself, and looks to leap off, but sees Echo and Bobby hanging out at the table! She steps down off the counter and gives Blake a kick to the ribs before furiously stomping over to confront Bobby and Echo. “What the hell are you doing!?” she screams at Echo, slapping the milkshake off the table.
“Well he got me a shake, and it’d be rude not to drink it!” Echo explains, giving Alex the boo-boo lip as she pleads her case.
By this point, Blake is up, holding his ribs and he comes over to berate Bobby as well! “C’mon man! We talked about keeping your head in the game!”
“Ain’t my fault I have to play two games at once, bro. You see how fine Ms. Echo Layne is?”
Blake slaps some sense into Bobby, “She’s the freakin’ enemy, man! We’re in the middle of a freakin’ fight, not an ice cream social!”
Alex and Blake look at one another, obviously both exasperated with their respective partners, and nod, switching spots and attacking the member of the opposite team!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Alex Monroe is now paired off with Bobby Larson and Blake O’Reilly is taking on Echo Layne. Maybe that will end the special mid-match edition of The Dating Game!
CHARLES HUDSON: Oh a dated reference, haha!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: I bet you found that incredibly clever, didn’t you Charles?
Alex drags Bobby by the head, punching him and pummeling him before whipping him hard into a garbage can! She places her hands on the top of the can and proceeds to stomp a mud hole into Bobby. Meanwhile, Blake has Echo in a Muay Thai Clinch, shooting Knees off into her midsection as he pushes her into a nearby wall. Alex pulls the dazed Bobby up and tosses him face first into the women’s room door, following him into the restroom!! The cameraman knows better than to follow, and screams can be heard from beyond the door, and Bobby emerges, being slapped and smacked by little old ladies with their purses! Alex comes out of the restroom herself, laughing her head off as Bobby gets beat down while being called a pervert! Blake breaks off from Echo to come to the aid of his partner, and he gets swatted at with purses as well! Alex helps Echo to her feet, as Bobby and Blake try to get away from the senior citizen slappers! The old ladies manage to work Bobby and Blake back through the tunnel, with Alex and Echo in tow, keeping a respectable distance and enjoying the show. An usher and Event Staff come by and break up the elderly women and Team Sexy, escorting the women to their seats and leading Team Sexy down the stairs towards the ring. Team Madness seizes the opportunity, and blast Team Sexy from behind, sending Blake and Bobby rolling down the stairs!
They hit a landing and Team Madness is all over them, Alex pulling Bobby up by the head and blasting him with quick punches, while Echo kicks at the downed Blake. Bobby blocks a punch and responds with a Short Forearm Strike, giving him an opening to bounce Alex’s head off the handrail and pull her into a side headlock to lead her down the stairs towards the ring! Echo disengages from Blake and runs down the stairs to the floor, jumping up on Bobby’s back, wrapping her left arm underneath his chin, while hammering down with some rights!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: This Mainstream Tag Team Championship match has been wild and chaotic, but it looks like it may finally be heading back to the ring!
CHARLES HUDSON: Team Madness has Bobby Larson isolated right now!
By this point, Alex has gathered her bearings and gives Bobby a hard elbow to the midsection. Echo slips down off of his back, and the two perform a Double-Team Irish Whip right into the barricade! They work together to get Bobby seated up on top of the barricade, and Alex gets him set up in a Draping Neck breaker position while Echo balances herself on the barricade. Echo gets a running start, walking the barricade like a tightrope and leaps up, nailing Bobby with a Running Splash as Alex drops him for the Draping Neck Breaker!
CHARLES HUDSON: What a double-team maneuver from Team Madness!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: They’ve been tag team champions in every promotion they’ve wrestled in, save for Mainstream! Tonight could very well be their night!
Echo gets up nursing her ribs, and Alex takes time to check on her partner, who gives her a thumbs up showing that she’s ok. The two begin to pull Bobby up by the head as Blake comes roaring into view, getting a running start to jump up onto the barricade and spring off for a Double Flying Clothesline, taking both women down! O’Riley rips Alex off the mat and tosses her shoulder first into the barricade before turning his attention to Echo, giving her a couple of stomps before hoisting her up into position for a Fall Away Slam into the ring post! Echo arches her back and holds her ribs, kicking her feet while doing so, but Blake gives her no reprieve, pulling her up by the head and rolling her into the ring. He slides in himself, and positions her to where her back is flush with the ring post, and slides back out, grabbing an arm and a leg and placing his boot on the post, pulling as hard as he can to stretch Echo’s back on the post! Alex attacks him from behind, breaking the hold, but as she tries to ram Blake’s head into the post, he blocks and sends her face first into the steel post instead!
CHARLES HUDSON: That’s gonna leave a mark!
By this point, Bobby Larson is back up, walking with a noticeable limp and holding his neck in pain as he joins Blake in stomping the living daylights out of Alexandria Monroe! Inside the ring, Echo is slowly starting to pull herself up to her feet with the assistance of the ropes. Team Sexy is too focused on the beat down they’re inflicting on Alex to notice Echo mounting the top turnbuckle. They hear a rather chipper, “UP HERE, A**HOLES!” and look up just in time to see Echo leap off the top turnbuckle to take them both down with a Flying Cross Body!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: This is a regular demolition derby! All four competitors are down on the floor!
After some time to recover, Echo is the first one up, and she grabs a hold of Bobby’s head, pulling him up and rolling him into the ring. She slides in herself, and begins to pull Bobby up again, but he pops up and nails her with a Lightning Strike Super Kick from out of nowhere, falling into the pin, 1…2…BREAK!
Alex dives in to break it up, saving the match for her team! Blake O’Reilly is pulling himself up by the apron, and Alex is quick to give him a Baseball Slide to send him falling back down to the floor. Bobby is right there as she gets up to pop her in the mouth with a solid punch, and he pulls a page out of Biggs’ playbook, rocking her with European Uppercuts that sends her stumbling backwards into the corner! Echo is up by this point and comes rushing from behind, but Bobby hears her coming and sidesteps her, causing her to crash right into Alex! Bobby gets a hold of her head and waistband, and spins her around, tossing Echo through the ropes to the floor! He then yanks Alexandria out of the corner and lifts her up onto his shoulders, walking her out to the middle of the ring before pulling off a picture-perfect Cartwheel Death Valley Driver!
CHARLES HUDSON: Anytime Bobby Larson performs the Cartwheel DVD, it’s just beautiful!
Bobby then stands over Alex, turning his back to her and twerking, popping his booty while he pumps his fists before pulling off a Standing Moonsault! Blake comes in to play defense as Bobby hooks both legs for 1…2…KICKOUT!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Did we really need to see Bobby Larson twerk there!?
CHARLES HUDSON: Probably not, but I’m sure some of the ladies loved it!
With Blake back in the ring, he points for Bobby to go to the top rope, while lifting Alex in a seated position onto his shoulders. Bobby mounts the top turnbuckle, but as he gets up, Echo is up onto the apron and gives his bottom a hard shove, sending Bobby flying to the floor as Alex traps Blake with a Victory Roll, 1…2…Kick out from Blake! Both members of Team Madness are on Blake, kicking and stomping him with reckless abandon before each grabbing a leg and Double Team Catapulting him over the ropes to nail Bobby as he attempts to get up! The crowd is chanting “MADNESS! MADNESS!” as both Alex and Echo get a running start and dive through the ropes with stereo Tope Suicides, but Blake and Bobby are both ready for them, stepping aside and swatting them into the barricade!
Bobby stomps a mud hole into Alex while Blake stomps Echo, and the two men eventually pull Alex back up, rolling her back into the ring. Bobby again climbs to the top rope as Blake lifts Alexandria into the Electric Chair position, and this time Bobby is able to leap off the top rope, flipping over Alex and catching her by the neck for a Blockbuster Doomsday Device! As Blake goes to cover Alex, Echo comes flying from out of nowhere to nail Bobby with a Frog Splash, the ref counting the pins with both hands for the 1…2…3!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Who got the pin first? Who won the match!?
CHARLES HUDSON: I can’t tell. It looks like both pins were at the same exact moment!
There’s confusion in the ring as both Blake and Echo plead their cases with the ref, trying to convince him that they were just a millisecond quicker in securing their covers. The ref just shrugs his shoulders and raises Blake and Echo’s arms!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Does this mean that Blake O’Reilly and Echo Layne are now the champs?
CHARLES HUDSON: No, it can’t be, in the event of a draw, the champions normally retain!
Confusion still lays across the faces of the combatants, who have now paired off with their respective partners as the referee exits the ring to explain his decision to Graham Stevens and the time keeper at ringside.
GRAHAM STEVENS: Ladies and gentlemen, the referee has informed me that due to the pinfalls occurring simultaneously, this match has been ruled a draw! Therefore, STILL your Mainstream Wrestling Tag Team Champions, Blake O’Reilly and Bobby Larson, Team Sexy!
The fans boo this announcement, and all four competitors have sour looks on their faces.
KEVIN BOMBAY: Hold on, hold on just a minute!
The fans have a mixed reaction as Mainstream Wrestling GM Kevin Bombay walks out onto the stage in an authoritative manner.
KEVIN BOMBAY: Ladies and gentlemen, Mainstream Wrestling main events do not end in a draw! You fans paid good money to see this title match tonight, and we will not leave St. Louis without a definitive winner in order to determine who are the Mainstream Wrestling Tag Team Champions! Ref, restart this match!
The fans cheer at the announcement, and the ref rings the bell!
The action is fast and furious as the match restarts, with Blake and Echo trading blows, while Bobby and Alex go at it! Echo gives Blake a quick kick to the gut and pulls him in for a DDT, while Alex smacks the taste out of Bobby’s mouth, spinning him around to allow her to hit a Reverse DDT! They cover in tandem, 1…2…Both members of Team Sexy kick out! Both women pull Blake up by the head and toss him out of the ring, turning their attention to Bobby Larson. They peel him up from the mat and Alex gets him in position for a Russian Leg Sweep, holding him up while Echo runs to hit the ropes, nailing him with a Bicycle Kick as Alex snaps him back for the Unbreakable Madness! Rather than going for the cover, Alex rolls Bobby onto his belly and lifts him up into a Wheelbarrow hold, bouncing him off the top ropes and turning into a Codebreaker from Echo, delivering the A&E Connection!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Team Madness are really laying it into Bobby with these Double Team maneuvers, and he looks like he’s finished!
Echo quickly goes for the cover, while Alex takes a defensive position, 1…2…Blake shoves Alex right into Echo, breaking the count! Before they can react, Blake powers Alex up off the mat and Bodyslams her right onto Echo Layne! As Alex arches her back in pain, Blake pulls her right up by the hair and waistband, tossing her through the ropes, isolating Echo! He grabs a hold of her leg, and turns her over onto her belly, applying a High-Angle Single Leg Crab, digging his knee into the back of her head as he does so! Bobby is still dazed, but has managed to sit himself up against the ropes. As Alex slides in, Bobby makes a weak lunge at her, managing to get a hold of her ankle, but she kicks him off and gives Blake a Running Drop Kick to the back of the head, breaking the hold! Larson is up to his feet, and he charges at Alex, who ducks the attempted Clothesline and answers with a Jumping Enziguri! As she pushes herself back up, Blake is right there with an Overhead Release German Suplex, and as he’s back up, Echo is there with a Jumping Overhead Blockbuster! Bobby is barely up at this point, and as Echo turns towards him, >SMACK!< he cracks her with a Lightning Strike Super Kick, falling down beside her and draping an arm over her, 1…2…3-NO!
Echo just barely rolls her shoulder off the mat in the knick of time! A look of shock is etched in Bobby’s face, but Blake is up and slaps his partner on the back, bringing him back to focus. The two of them pull Echo up off the mat and Double Team Whip her into the ropes. They launch her in the air with a Double Team Back Body Drop, sending her flying high in the air before crashing on the mat! They then pull Alex up, with Blake getting behind her and locking her arms in a Double Underhook while Bobby lines her up! He lets loose with another Lightning Strike Superkick, but Alex ducks at the last moment, causing Bobby to nail his own partner instead!
Blake hits the mat like a ton of bricks and Alex sneaks behind the shocked Bobby, rolling him up with a School Boy Pin, 1…2…Bobby kicks out! Echo has regained her composure by this point, and is up the same time as Alex and Bobby, allowing the women to Super kick Bobby’s legs out from underneath him and follow up with Double Super kicks to the face of Mr. Larson, connecting with the Earth-52! Blake gets up and receives an Earth-52 himself!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Team Madness is on a roll here!
Alex and Echo pull Blake up and dump him to the outside before turning their attention back to Bobby, who’s on Dream Street. They pull him back up to a vertical base, and Alex sticks her head between his legs, lifting him up in position for an Alabama Slam. She then whips him over her head and Echo rushes in, giving him a Backstabber on the way down! Echo makes the cover, hooking both legs for 1…2…3!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Madness Alignment! Madness Alignment! This one is over!
GRAHAM STEVENS: Your winners by pin fall AND NEW Mainstream Wrestling World Tag Team Champions, Echo Layne and Alexandria Monroe…TEAM—MADNESS!
“Good Girls Go to Hell” hits the speakers and Team Madness embrace in the ring as the ref retrieves the Tag Team Title belts, handing them to the new champs as they get to their feet and raise their arms in victory! Blake slams his fist on the apron in frustration as Bobby Larson is still out cold. Bobby tries to sit up and push himself up to his feet, but his eyes are glazed over and the ref waves for assistance from the back as Team Madness celebrates!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: What a way to cap off an amazing night of Mainstream Wrestling Action! Team Madness and Team Sexy went to war tonight, with Alexandria Monroe and Echo Layne emerging victorious!
CHARLES HUDSON: It was wild, it was chaotic, but in the end, it was a damn good wrestling match! And while Team Sexy has every right to be disappointed that they didn’t walk away the tag champs tonight, they have no reason to be disappointed with their performance here tonight! They were great champs, but the reign of Madness has begun in the Mainstream Wrestling Tag Team Division!
By this point, Medical Staff have come down to tend to Bobby Larson, with Biggs and Lex Collins joining Blake O’Reilly at ringside, looking on with concern. Team Madness clears the ring to give the medical team the room they need, and head up to the stage, raising their titles high as their music continues to play!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: A very classy display by Team Madness to move their celebration elsewhere while Bobby Larson is tended to. Still, with the first round of the Emerald City Classic in the books and new Tag Team Champions, tonight has been an historic night for Mainstream Wrestling!
CHARLES HUDSON: Man I hope Bobby’s okay! We’ll see y’all soon for the Second Round of action in the Emerald City Classic and more at Mainstream 90!
Mainstream 89 comes to a close with Alex and Echo holding their titles high and hugging each other once more!
