KEY ARENA - SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
FUSION 4: GLUTTONY IS LIVE FROM SEATTLE, WASHINGTON INSIDE KEY ARENA. THE HOME OF SEATTLE PRO WRESTLING!
MCKAYLA LEWIS: Ladies and Gentlemen we are live from Key Arena for FUSION 4! Bryan Blaze will defend the Heavyweight Championship against Eli Buchanan in the Main Event with Jacob Hammerstein serving as the Special Guest Referee. Also tonight we will see the second round of the Endurance Championship Contender Series. First up is JT Saint versus Ryan Henderson but we’re going to hear from the Seattle Pro Pride Champion AJ Knight whom is already in the ring ready to kickoff FUSION 4!
AJ Knight is in the ring with a microphone in hand ready to speak, with the Pride Championship slung across his shoulder.
AJ KNIGHT: Last time I was out here I was given an opportunity at the tag belts with, A.J. Morales. For a first time tandem we did pretty damn well, but we came up just a tad short. So that leaves me with just one title right now. As the Pride champion I have been proving my status as the greatest champion this title has ever had, and next event I will defend it for the 4th time, breaking the defense record for this title, and tie the most all time defenses in a single title reign in Seattle Pro’s history. Now I’ve had a lot going on around me as of late, including a cowardly attack from behind a few weeks ago. Blake Mitchell, I want to thank you for helping me out backstage after the attack, it was much appreciated. Now I don’t know who attacked me, but I guarantee one thing! I will find you and I will kick your ass!
AJ pauses.
AJ KNIGHT: But right now… I have to focus on my responsibilities in Seattle Pro as the Pride Champion. Management has given me the right to decide my next challenger, right now I’m standing on the precipice of history, with one win separating me from breaking Scott’s record, and while a lesser man would choose an easier opponent, I’ve chosen a truly world class competitor. Ladies and gentlemen, my challenger: A.J. Morales!!
"A'right, stop, stop, hold on, hold on, hold on--"
Right on cue, a familiar voice clip hits the PA and gets the challenger’s supporters cheering before the opening riff of “Nowhere” by Therapy? kicks in. The lighting near the entrance turns gold, vapor starts hissing out of the fog machines, and a highlight reel of clips from A.J.'s past matches starts to play. The Revolution himself emerges with a mic in his hand, his two championships from outside SPW, and a Seattle SuperSonics warmup jacket on, just for that little extra boost of local appeal. Morales gives out high-fives and fist bumps all the way down the ramp before he climbs up onto the apron and looks out at the crowd as he brings the mic up to speak.
A.J. MORALES: Hey, if they can’t license “Kool Thing,” this oughta do. What’s good, Seattle?
The crowd cheers their answer to the Rawest Wrestler Alive as he climbs into the ring to stand face-to-face with his opponent.
A.J. MORALES: First off...hey, man, no worries about what happened with the tag titles. I know we weren’t always on the same page, we had some miscommunications here and there, but hey, like you said, for a first-time team, that was pretty damn good. And I gotta thank you for giving me this title shot and wanting to earn that record-breaking defense, ‘cause that tells me you’ve got the championship mentality to deserve holding that Pride title for so long.
More cheers, both out of respect for Knight’s run and agreement with Morales’s props.
A.J. MORALES: Pero escúchame, tocayo...before you hop off that plane at LAX in two weeks, before you pull up at the Staples Center, before you defend that title one more time at Mainstream 10, I just wanna make sure you know what you’ve signed yourself up for. ‘Cause as talented as the guys you’ve faced to stay Pride Champion are, as crazy as it must have been defending the Pride and Endurance titles in the same match, you gotta understand, I’m on a whooooole ‘nother level from the challenges you’ve faced up ‘till now.
There’s an immediate rush of anticipation through the crowd, curious to see how intense this gets.
A.J. MORALES: See, I don’t know if you noticed, but I’ve got an aerial game miles above what you’ve had to deal with. I’ve got the strong style to trade blows with anyone on this roster. I’ve adapted time and time again to situations I wasn’t prepared for and walked out of ‘em with more than I ever coulda dreamed of having. And as for the whole double champion thing…
A.J. points down at the belts around his waist.
A.J. MORALES: ...haha...I was doin' that one first, and I'm still goin' strong. So you better bring your A-game in LA, man, ‘cause if you don’t, that Pride Championship’s gonna fall into the hands of the Rawest! Wrestler! ALIVE!
Morales spikes his mic on the mat, whipping his supporters up into a frenzy. Knight tilts his head back, a subtly cocky grin on his face, and nods his head while he waits for the chants to die down, then brings his mic back up to respond.
AJ KNIGHT: I know how good you are A.J. And frankly, that’s why I chose you. My level of opposition has been solid for the most part, but only one of them has really been world class. And I want a classic to break the record, not just any old opponent. So let’s make it happen. Let’s steal the show. Bring your high flying, bring your strong style, bring whatever you have at your disposal because I guarantee that I will show you exactly why I was the greatest Endurance Champion in history, why I was the first ever double champion in Seattle Pro History, and why I am the greatest Pride Champion of all time!
Knight sticks out the hand to Morales, as the crowd buzzes with anticipation, and Morales shakes it as the two give each other a tense staredown.
